Job Description: 

Job Summary

  • Review the general accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting principles, and the maintenance of accounting systems and standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, including the preparation and review of journal entries, the regular financial reports, and reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting activities:

• Collaborating with relevant departments to gather, analyze relevant financial information, review the JVs posting at the end to ensure timely closing and accuracy of the accounting book.

• Ensure reliable accounting records, control, and report transactions.

• Closely working with HKSEATH regional finance and SCC Finance team to clarify their concerns, give an explanation on financial information if required

• Appropriate, apply, and follow up the group and local accounting and compliance norms.

Reporting activities:

• Preparing monthly finance report and submitting the financial reports (FS, BS, Cashflow) and preparing financial narratives, which are submitted to the SCC finance reporting team

• Performing monthly reconciliation for all balance sheet items with supporting documents to verify the completeness and integrity of account balances on the company’s general ledger and working with relevant functions to investigate discrepancies, justify the explanation and clear long outstanding.

• Closely working with HKSEATH regional finance and SCC Finance team on the monthly reporting activities to ensure timely submission and accuracy of financial information

Auditing activities:

• Supporting GL team leader to work with the auditor by connecting them with all finance departments / other departments to ensure the audit course is effectively conducted and the group audited FS and local audited FS are released within the timeline.

• Check the audit adjustments raised by auditors against the accounting book, relevant department and accounting standard

• Follow-up auditors, audited FS approver to ensure the audit report to be released on time

• Working with relevant departments to ensure the accounting gap raised by auditor to be closed

Accounting guideline updates:

• Supporting GL team leader on reviewing the ad-hoc business transactions against accounting standard and consulting business on accounting standard implementation

• Regularly updating, understanding and addressing the impacts of new accounting policies issued by local accounting regulation, IFRS and SCC accounting standard.

Requirements

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience (typically 5 – 7 years)
  • Previous experience in both internal and external audit with exposure to FMCG industry
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Build good working relationships with partners to provide clear advice on accounting implementation
  • Proactively collaborate with relevant stakeholders
  • Deep accounting (international and local accounting standards) understanding
  • Advance in SAP knowledge
